Abstract

Spain has always been a country of emigration throughout its history. This trend reversed from the middle of 1990s, when the country started to receive immigrants due to its economic development, and continues until the beginning of the economic crisis in 2009. From then that there have been an increase in the flow of migrants towards the European countries less affected by the crisis and also to Brazil. This work is focused on Spanish emigration to European countries: Germany and Switzerland, as well as to Brazil, considering the differences on migratory movement between Spain and both regions, as well as the phenomenon of transfer of currency from abroad to Spain, which grows in proportion to emigration.
